Members of the Black Knights and Wolfpack know that through bravery and cleverness, the Dragon Masters can be defeated. The Dragon Masters, led by Majisto the wizard, have learned to control the beastly fire breathing dragons. Can the powerful Black Knights and the cunning Wolfpack stop their reign? Only you can decide the outcome of this medieval adventure. The Dragon Masters have arrived! Led by Majisto the Wizard and his glow in the dark wand, they control the fierce flying dragons. Thus, the box's rear artwork suggested 3-4 alternative configurations-all with an entirely different firing mechanism. While the catapult's mechanism is not explicitly modular, the build process is well organized, with each segment bricked individually. The knight wears a unique black helmet with detachable side wings and a tiny dragon-shaped plume on top-in this particular instance, yellow. The set came with two minifigs: a foot soldier plus one of the customized Dragon Knights, Sir Lance, who sports an epic body armor with a standing dragon emblem. ![]() Two transparent orange flames decorate the dragon's nostrils. The build is finished in a classy tri-color palette of black, blue, and red-with occasional yellow and white accents, and wheels in legacy brown/"earth orange" color. Once the trigger lever's released, the dragon head drops down, unleashing two shots. It's armed by lowering two interconnected pairs of mounts to the ground, then secured by a tiny blue lever this sends a gigantic counterweight-elaborate brick-built dragon head-high above.īoth buckets, armed with 1x1 bricks, move independently, so the artillerist can aim at different targets. It rests on a four-wheel chassis, pushed by men with two sets of handles on each side.Ī firing mechanism, connected by Technic pegs, is quite complicated and relies on gravity as the primary force. The 'Dragon Defender' featured a massive twin catapult, the theme's only noteworthy siege vehicle. Still, it had a significant impact not only on the Castle's theme history but on the LEGO System in general (some of the reasons are explained in more detail below). Lasting three years (with 11-12 sets produced), "Dragon Masters," or "Dragon Knights" as per British catalogs, was a relatively short-lived theme. 6043 'Dragon Defender,' also known as 'The Dragon Knights' Fire Catapult' in the UK, came out in 1993, and it was one of six sets that debuted a Castle's newly-launched "Dragon Masters" subtheme. The inventory is 99%+ exact, with just two heads and the Dragon Knight's helmet missing. ![]()
